Chapter 41 · Section Nine, Living at a New Level
The Last Crossing
What is the crossing you've been avoiding?
The question this chapter asks
What are you practicing now for the crossing you will make last?
Practice
25 minutes
Letter from the other shore
Write a letter to yourself from the other shore, from the person you will be once this crossing is made. Date it a year from today. Bring it to the last meeting and be ready to read it out loud. Keep it with the page you wrote for chapter 1.
For the group
Write a letter to yourself from the other shore, the person you'll be after the crossing you're making now. Read it to the group. This is your graduation.
For the leader
Read the letters out loud. All of them. This is the most important meeting of the ten weeks. Don't rush it. If someone cries, let them. If everyone cries, that's the group doing what it was made to do.
If your group prays together
I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content.
