Chapter 16 · Section Four, Stage 2: Problem
The Mental Battle
You don't think your way out of the mental battle. You decide your way out.
The question this chapter asks
What decision have you been waiting to feel ready for?
Practice
20 minutes
Two voices
Two columns. In the first, write what the accusing voice says, word for word. In the second, write what the truthful voice answers. Read the second column out loud when you finish.
For the group
Seth heard two voices, one that said "you're done" and one that said "there's something more." What are the two voices saying to you right now? Write one sentence from each voice, then read both to the group.
For the leader
The exercise is hearing both voices named out loud. The group doesn't need to pick a winner. The naming is the work.
If your group prays together
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
