Chapter 17 · Section Four, Stage 2: Problem
No One Has Gone Before You
The person with no model doesn't lack courage. They lack evidence. Go anyway.
The question this chapter asks
What are you waiting to watch someone else do first?
Practice
15 minutes
No model
Nobody in your family or circle has made this crossing. Write what that costs you, and what it frees you to do. Circle the thing it frees you to do.
For the group
Has anyone in the group made a crossing with no model, no one who'd done it before them? What was the hardest part: the lack of a plan, or the lack of evidence that it was possible?
For the leader
If the answer is "lack of evidence," ask: "What evidence would have been enough?" Often the answer reveals that no amount of evidence would have been enough. You just had to go.
If your group prays together
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
