Chapter 36 · Section Eight, Barriers to Crossing
Strongholds
Managing suffering and crossing out of it are different projects.
The question this chapter asks
What pattern has defeated you more than once, in the same way?
Practice
20 minutes
The strongest argument
Put the argument that keeps you where you are into its strongest form, then write your one-line answer to it. Read your answer out loud once.
For the group
What is the lie you've believed so long it feels like a wall? Name it in one sentence. Then say it again. The group's job is to witness the naming, not to fix it.
For the leader
The second time they say it, it loses some of its power. That's the point. Naming breaks the spell.
If your group prays together
Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
