Chapter 8 · Section Two, Destiny
Your Neighborhood
Purpose is almost never found in stillness. You find it by going.
The question this chapter asks
Who lives near you that you have never gone to?
Practice
20 minutes
Twenty minutes on foot
With a phone or a small notebook in hand, walk twenty minutes where you live. Write down three things you had stopped noticing and one person you could speak to. When you get home, write down the person's name and one thing you could say to them.
For the group
Seth talks about the shift from Family to Community. Has anyone in the group made a crossing that moved them from their own family's needs into someone else's neighborhood? What did it cost?
For the leader
This chapter is about proximity. If the conversation stays abstract, ask: "Whose name comes to mind when you think about your neighborhood?"
If your group prays together
I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
